SAVE THE DATE – Public hearings on airport policy

The Latimer administration has announced three public hearings on airport policy. Aviation interests are already gearing up to lobby for more development and more traffic. It is critically important that community members appear and speak at these hearings in order to stop or roll back the airport’s assault on our quality of life. Please save the date and plan to attend each of the hearings.

The hearings are to focus on one topic each and are scheduled as follows:

Master Plan
June 6, 7:00 pm
Rye Brook Village Hall
938 King Street
Rye Brook, NY 10573

Governance / Privatization
June 11, 7:00 pm
Hergenhan Recreation Center
40 Maple Avenue
Armonk, NY 10504

Operations / Noise / Environmental impact
June 25, 7:00 pm
West Harrison Senior Center
251 Underhill Ave
West Harrison, NY 10604

We believe concerned citizens should ground their comments in the impact of the airport on their lives. If you have been woken up by an airplane, make that known. If you have had to cancel social events because of noise, speak up. If you are concerned about the invisible air and water pollution that the airport creates in our communities, say so.

  1. Thanks for the heads up!
I’ll be at all the meetings. The air traffic is HERENDOUS. losing sleep, can’t plan any upcoming outdoor events and the fuel residue has become a danger in many ways. I almost broke my leg slipping on it. I hope that there will be a huge turn out. Again, thanks for the e-mail. All the best!!

  2. We all need to turn out in force for these meetings, even if we are not presently immediately effected by airport activities. Should any “privatization” occur, Westchester taxpayers will be on the hook to pay for any environmental or other damages caused by the airport’s operation. These could be exhorbitant.
