Some of Rob Astorino’s nominees to the Westchester County Airport Advisory Board have a long history of ignoring or silencing the public that they are supposed to represent. This was caught on video on June 28 when Chairman Rocco Turso attempted to illegally prohibit filming of the meeting.
New York’s Open Meetings Law reads in part:
§103 (d) (1): Any meeting of a public body that is open to the public shall be open to being photographed, broadcast, webcast, or otherwise recorded and/or transmitted by audio or video means. As used herein the term “broadcast” shall also include the transmission of signals by cable.
Turso repeatedly attempted to intimidate our member into putting down her camera. He only gave up when we began reading the law to him.
Know your rights and don’t be intimidated by small people with big titles!
This guy is trying to rip me off as I write this
