Noise public health expert Arline Bronzaft to address Airport Advisory Board

Dr. Arline Bronzaft, a renowned expert on the health impacts of noise, will appear before the Westchester County Airport Advisory Board on Wednesday, March 27 at 7 PM. Park in the airport terminal parking garage and bring your ticket for free parking validation. The meeting is in the conference room on the 2nd floor.

Dr. Bronzaft is Professor Emerita of Psychology at Lehman College and has served as an advisor to five New York City mayors as the chairperson of the Noise Committee of GrowNYC. Her seminal work establishing the adverse effects of subway noise on children’s learning in the 1970s led to her being awarded the American Psychological Association’s 2018 Presidential Citation.

Dr. Bronzaft will present and take questions from the audience. This is our opportunity to reinforce for the county the World Health Organization’s finding that aircraft noise is not only annoying, it is hazardous to our health.

A good showing by the community is the best way to focus the County on our needs as they continue to push airport projects with minimal public input. The Airport Advisory Board is your forum to hold the County accountable to its actions.

  1. I’m so sorry that I was unable to attend. I was celebrating my Mothers 95th birthday in Florida. I intend to be at the next one. Thank you for keeping me in the loop. All your hard work is so appreciated.
